Will Republicans assault a border deal?

.ON DECEMBER 6TH Republicans refused President Joe Biden's ask for $106bn of funding, most of it to help arm Ukraine, on the manner that its regulations to protect America's southern boundary did certainly not go far good enough. A group of statesmans right now seem to be near assaulting a bipartisan bargain on immigration policies, believed to feature more durable policies as the cost of Republican support. Yet it appears very likely to be finished off in the House of Reps. On January 14th Mike Johnson, our home audio speaker, claimed that meaningful perimeter reform would need to hang around up until a Republican politician was president. Yet on January 17th, after a conference with Mr Biden, he suggested that he may be open up to a compromise it goes without saying. Is one likely?
